On Saturday, the Oh, Sophia team attended NetIP NY’s classy affair — a Scholarship Gala, on generous invitation of NetIP’s board presidents Sami Ahmed & Shobha Nikam. The Gala’s purpose was to award a grant to an NGO to forward education efforts in South Asia. In line with NetIP New York‘s mission to foster professional development in the South Asian community, NetIP also provides an amazing support system for Oh, Sophia. We met so many wonderful people at the gala, excited to hear about our project by a team of devoted young artists and technicians.
On Sunday, was NetIP’s new monthly film event, started by the organization’s film enthusiast Milan Mantri, where they screen a film and host a Q&A with the director. This month they screened Bombay Summer which had stirred excitement on the festival circuit last year. In September, they will host an event of short films from Bornila! (plus exclusive, hot-off-the-set Oh, Sophia footage…)
We couldn’t do this without organizations like NetIP that truly have it in mind to see people of their community do well. And the people involved with the organization are just simply a blast to hang out with. Oh, Sophia loves you, NetIP New York!
